First ever ascension, very early plate armor, and unstable spellbook. Also, TIL that you can use alchemy a lot more than I previously thought by converting your potions to energy, and its dirt cheap.
You need to play with challenges enabled! Winning the game with no challenges is the tutorial.
Some are running multichallenges runs, it might be better suited for you.
lame post title. the game is hard by all comparisons to difficulty standards in any other game. that and you arent even showing all your previous attempts, which just gives this post a bad vibe.
You can just read the text under the image :)
Btw, this is on my new device, so that’s why there are no other attempts.
Okay, so how do people make it to the 2nd boss floor even? Most of the time I just end up dying before or during the first boss fight and am lucky if I make it much further. What’s the secret tips and tricks?
1st boss:
- hit
- If messed up in sticky acid, step away to water.
- if goo charges step away not to be hit by explosion
- once goo blurped up, throw a weapon
- restart list at top.
How do you find yourself dying? Are you starving? Or is there a particular enemy that’s giving you trouble?
Not the original guy you were talking to as it looks like they’ve deleted their comment, but I figured I’d jump in as I’m just starting this game.
So far I have been able to make it past the electricity vehicle boss? I think that’s the 3rd one. The farthest I’ve been was duelist spec’d into monk. Can’t remember what took me out in that run.
Fuck the crabs in the sewers tho. I’m trying mage out and not having ANY luck finding early wands. The crabs absolutely fuck my shit up and I’m trying everything including throwing weapons from as far away as I can.
Crabs are tough - I’m not a top tier player, but I’m not aware of a killer strategy like for some of the mobs. I do find that a small amount of upgrades makes a big difference in the early game, though. I’ll usually choose the item from the ghost that I can use the soonest (lowest tier) unless I’ve already found an equivalent.
Don’t be afraid to spend an upgrade or two early - many players will advise you not to “waste” upgrades on early equipment, but most games you don’t need every upgrade on your end game equipment to win. If playing as mage, dump an upgrade into your staff right away; you’ll retain that upgrade, even if you imbue a higher upgraded staff.
Likewise, don’t hoard health potions, seeds, etc. - they’re no use to you if you’re dead. All items are useful - if you’re not using an item (seed, stone, etc.) , figure out how you can add to your gameplay.
For dwarven halls (after 3rd boss), have a way of dealing with ranged enemies; either a way to quickly close the gap (e.g., hourglass, chains) or a way to blind them (e.g., darts, wand of prismatic light).
Good luck!
