    And what will the punishment be? We all know what it will be. They will get to keep all their trophies, face zero point deductions, no transfer limits, and zero financial punishments. They will get the gentlest of slaps on the wrist.

      100%. Actually punishing City would be bad for the Premier League brand and the broadcasters. They will get a token punishment so the PL can say “we punished them”.

      They might not be found guilty. Hell, depending on the specifics of the case and the wording of the rules, they might not even BE guilty (at least technically).

      And if they are found guilty, we don’t know what the punishment will be. It could be any of the things you say won’t happen.

      Although clearly for a lot of people nothing will be viewed as enough of a punishment.

    Is it because the rest of the league is also breaking league rules, just not as many? Feels like a larger systemic problem with the league IMO.
