I tried replying to your comment (which shows up in my mastodon feed), but apparently it doesn’t carry over child comments. (So here’s a comment from my lemmy account)

My first reply was even carried over from mastodon to the lemmy post (you can see it over in the OP link) as a comment Federation is neat, hadn’t done a cross-platform protocol use like that before
