What is it like ? Did you like it?
It is a novel, easy to read (like 3 evenings) . The topic is interesting in current context, but it is just a scenario , even if provided by ex admiral.

Who is the foe specifically? And who are the players?
according to author it is China. Its worth to mention that author is not trying to cover the real reasons behind the described confrontation—nothing about the competition between us and chinese capital, nothing about politics before war etc.—just a bloody war.
sounds a bit gratuitous than grounded
