- Get a job
- Convince boss to use OSS
- Wait for bug report or feature request
- Proudly remind everybody that this is OSS and that you can address the ticket (on company time of course)
- Convince boss maintenance will go way more smoothly if you open a PR upstream
- Go back to step 3
