Yeah, they crammed a lot of good jokes into that 24 minutes but it somehow didn’t feel rushed (except the parts they played at 2x speed).

I liked it, not going to lie. There were some fun jokes and some of the same “blink and you’ll miss it” but it didn’t feel like it had the same soul as futurama used to. I’m excited for the rest of the season to see if they can hold up

Yeah, the “Fulu” bit was a little on the nose but it was surprisingly good overall. I’m still worried about the rest of the season given the names of the episodes, but hopefully they’re good.

I didn’t like it, myself. Leela encouraging Fry to do something so stupid was really out of character, and I didn’t find the concept funny, either. I did love The Scary Mirror, though, as a fan of both The Twilight Zone and Black Mirror! Hoping I’ll like the later episodes more.

What is even going on in the Simpson. I never really got into that show. As a kid I think I liked it because kids are supposed to like cartoons. But it was never my go to show.

I never became interested in it as I got older.

It was a great commentary on 80’s working class life. Kind of like a middle finger to all the traditional family shows, really anarchist if you see it in the context of late 80’s television.

I don’t follow the most recent episodes. I usually find episodes to watch based on top ten lists or clips on youtube. I watched with my dad as a kid, because he was always watching it and I wanted to hang out with him. Like any cartoon it has a time period where it had some episodes that have critical acclaim. The episode You Only Move Twice is from 1996 and it’s one of my favorites. I would have turned three years old that year, so I probably didn’t watch it at the time.

And sometimes undead is better. This thrice-reanimated monster keeps proving that cancelling often has nothing to do with quality.

What is dead may never die. Futurama will probably be rebooted until enough of the voice actors die that it is no longer a viable series to reboot.

I used to love Futurama but the last season left a bit more to be desired. It didn’t have the same energy as the earlier seasons.

I feel the same. I’m not here to yuck anyones yum, (I am glad folks are enjoying it) but the Futurama that came back from the dead wasn’t the Futurama I fell in love with. Even though it stayed quite smart and nerdy… Perhaps later they leaned too hard into math nerd territory like with the body swap episode. Cool that they made an equation to make it work, but that’s not “funny,” just extremely nerdy.

2008 was just a series of four movies though, even though now it has been split into episodes. Those were one off to guage interest.

Why do I remember so vividly that Futurama was airing new episodes much later than 2013? I know they had that crossover with the Simpsons, but I fucking swear the last episode aired much later than 2013. This meme gave me a new Mandela effect.
