I’m undecided between 2 and 3

0 or 1. 2+ is incredibly bad for your neck and sleep. Or you just have paper thin very old pillows and you should replace them with a high quality pillow. I use a Coop brand pillow and it’s customizable to whatever thickness works best for you. Get a good pillow and use 1. Don’t use more.

I can’t even imagine what it would look like for someone to use more than 1 pillow. Like, how is their body not contorted into a horribly uncomfortable position?

pillows always made me feel uncomfy so I pretty much entirely stopped using them. Ill ball up a blanket if I want some support but often times I forgo it

I am a side/stomach sleeper, and after years of never sleeping right, I was looking for a new pillow and tried these cheap-ass Walmart pillows made for side sleepers. I also decided to splurge and get pillow protectors. I forget the brand, but they are the top-level anti-allergen, anti-mold, super clean ultra max ones. I fluff mine every time before I lie down. So far, it’s lasted 6 months. My wife’s is a bit worn, but she is one of those people that seems to wear things out just touching them lol. It’s the most comfortable pillow I’ve ever used, and I’ve stayed in some pretty fancy places. It’s not just about how expensive it is, but if it’s the right kind of pillow for the way you sleep.

You’re right about it being the right kind of pillow. I’m wondering if your fluff habit is what’s helping though. I’ve tried like twenty different kinds of cheap pillows and they’ve all sucked. It wasn’t until I finally said “enough is enough” and spent like $120 bucks on a pillow that I’ve finally had one that supports my head properly. Only problem is it is made for side sleepers and I rotate multiple times in the middle of the night from side to stomach and have to move it out of the way when I go to my stomach.

It has reduced the amount I rotate though.

Yeah, that’s why my pillow journey has taken so long. I refuse to pay $100+ for something that needs to be replaced every 6-12 months. It’s why I’m not looking forward to getting a new mattress, too. They used to make them with a top on both sides so you could flip, as well as rotate your mattress, making it last much longer. Now you only get one side, and who the fuck knows how long all that rubber/memory foam/trash that they stick in them now lasts before it degrades. It’s just more of us not owning anything and everything made to be thrown out and replaced rather than maintained and repaired.

Wait, why would your pillow only last 6-12 months? I used the same pillow for like 4-6 years before replacing it with this one.
