          They couldn’t find them for three days, they went to preheat the oven because apparently they don’t use it much. They found melty glasses, isn’t too hard to imagine. What I don’t understand more is why they were placed in there. What situation would lead to someone putting their glasses in the oven.

            I assume they’re reading glasses, because at least when I wore glasses before LASIK I would know immediately if I wasn’t wearing my glasses. A lot of people hang their reading glasses on their shirt collar or on top of their head, I could see them falling off while pulling something out of the oven without realizing.

    When my face gets sweaty, my glasses will sometimes slip off without me feeling it which usually means I don’t catch them before they hit the floor. I could see someone pulling something out of the oven in a rush and not noticing that their glasses came off. Particularly if there was a bunch of steam or smoke and they closed their eyes.
