Has Thunder ever considered potentially creating a Thunder community Discord server?

I know there’s already a:

GitHub,

Lemmy community,

and

Matrix space for Thunder, which is great.

But I was wondering if you’ve thought about expanding to Discord as well?

Alternatively, have you looked into Revolt Chat as another option? It’s a newer platform that is similar to Discord, but open-source.

I’m curious about your thoughts on these additional communication channels, and if you see any benefits or drawbacks to potentially expanding Thunder’s online presence in these ways.

I’ve been trying to get my friends to leave Discord. Such a privacy nightmare should never be promoted under almost any circumstances.

      Yes, please no discord.

Fediverse is free and open, while discord is a proprietary walled garden. I wish no one has to use it to communicate with developers of a project they use. Also it’s not indexed by search engines, so it’s just different people asking same questions over and over.

Discord is just bad. If devs want to use discord, it’s fine, I can’t tell others what to do, but please keep this in mind.

Is there at least 1 fully working self hosted revolt instance not hosted by revolt devs? Is revolt federated? Can revolt knowledge be indexed and accessed without revolt account?
