He should come to Germany and do that here and then we can hear from him from prison for the next 12 months and he will be banned from performing here for the next decade.

Compared to the US, they don’t. 1A protections are extremely broad, to be outside protected speech it practically has to be either CSAM or inciting immediate lawless action.

As in “SLUR should be hanged from trees” is protected under 1A, “Guys, grab that SLUR over there and string him up” is not. CSAM is primarily illegal because production, distribution and even possession further harms the victim of the CSA performed to create it.

We got freedom of speech. But when it harms people, it isn’t just speech anymore. Cause violence against innocents and you pay the consequences.

          I get it.

but the “Free Speech Absolutism” that Vance is talking about, demands the right to call you a N****R without consequences. Or say that you need to be killed because X Y Z.

The detail I enjoyed most about this is that he had fewer than 220 followers at the time of the ban. This suggests that in order for any details on this incident to have got out at all, a decent percentage of his fans in 2025 are actually just journalists waiting for him to do something stupid they can get an article out of.

Last month, West made a video featuring him posing in a diamond-encrusted swastika necklace next to infamous white supremacist Nick Fuentes.

I have a good friend who is a jeweler, and loves getting an expensive custom job, which this had to be. You dont just pick up a “diamond-encrusted swastika” at Jared. I wondered what my buddy would do if he was offered such a commission.

And I realized that he’d take it, not because his politics (or musical taste) are in alignment, but I know that he would say “If he wants to pay me a ridiculous amount of money to help him make an idiot of himself in front of the entire world, who am I to deny him?”

I agree, I’d refuse it, but I can’t judge someone who is self-employed, and needs to keep the money rolling in. Traditionally, artists have had to work for wealthy patrons they havent cared for, but that’s the flip side of being an artist, and why the dream is always artistic independence.

Man, the difference is that the swastika sends a message of death. I know, I know, anything could be a message of death.

But some stupid fuck sees that stupid idiot wearing a fucking diamond encrusted swastika necklace, then he will be emboldened next time to harm some innocent person. All because, yes, because of someone willing to take the money. It’s blood money.

            That’s a very valid perspective, i agree.

But it seems like if someone is going to be inspired by a diamond-encrusted swatika to commit hate crimes, they were already pretty far down that path anyway. I don’t think the jeweler who is trying feed his family is at fault.

The Black Nazi logic is that

1: they’re primarily anti-semitic 2: the Nazis didn’t oppress black people in Germany.

#2 is actually true, because there weren’t really any black people in Germany. The long term goals are something they don’t pay attention to, as stupid people.

I just checked and Hasan is still on the front page of Twitch. So don’t worry, Amazon is still profiting off of anti-semitism.

The sad thing is, I think you are correct, without even joking. I think he literally needs some kind of help.

I try to keep an open mind always. So a while back he did a Lex Friedman interview, and I listened to it. For anyone not familiar, Lex does long form interviews of an hour or more and gets deep into various subjects.

I got about halfway through before concluding that there is something seriously wrong with West. Maybe he is just stupid (not as an insult, I mean like he lacks any sort of intelligence) or maybe he has brain damage or maybe he is just delusional. But you listen to the guy talk for more than 5 minutes at a time and you wonder what the hell is wrong with him.

For example, he spent a lot of time blaming the ‘Jewish media’ for a lot of America’s problems. Lex repeatedly asked him for specifics, challenged him to call out specific members or leaders of said media for specific actions, challenged him to use his platform to identify bad actors. He had few if any specifics and saw no particular benefit in any specific call outs, in his world it’s all a conspiracy and the whole ‘Jewish media’ and everyone part of it is all one and the same.

Furthermore, he spent a lot of time explaining why we should stop teaching history in schools. Said we should focus on science and technology classes and not waste time reliving the past. Lex tried hard to challenge that, even brought up specific non-partisan examples from history that presented useful lessons for today. It had no effect, West continued to double down on the position that teaching kids history is a waste of time and resources.

At this point I had wasted about half an hour listening to the guy, and decided he was simply not worth my time to listen any further, because he obviously fundamentally misunderstood how the world works, how human nature works, and had little or no facts or evidence to back up his positions. I concluded that any further ideas from West can probably be safely dismissed without much consideration, because his thought process shows no evidence of rational or scientific thought.

Honestly the best analogy I can think of is like going to a mental institution and listening to a crazy person. They will talk your head off for an hour about how aliens infected their brain or whatever, and the only thing you will get from it is an hour older.

No, he was already rich and famous, before all this (although he was always a bit loopy).

If anything, all this political and Nazi nonsense has whittled away at his fame and acceptance, and each time he opens his mouth, he loses far more fans than he gains, and the fans he gains are poor quality ones.

As for the money, he was already a billionaire, which is fairly difficult to lose once you have it. He has lost some of the endorsement deals that made him wealthy in the first place, but those are gone, so he isn’t stacking up cash any longer, just draining it. Its just that with billions to start with, it will take a while for it to get low enough to feel it.

Bottom line: Every time he pulls a stunt like this, its a net loss for him, not a gain.

Here I am missing my meds and really wishing I could get my brain chemistry back to “normal” but I can’t afford it.

I moved across the country and had more difficulty than expected finding work, so my savings are tapped and my health insurance has not kicked in yet.

I’m not saying anyone should be forced to take meds that could alter their autonomy in any way, that being said, I know I do better and feel better when I have my meds. In life, at work, in personal relationships. I want to take them.

It doesn’t seem fair… hooray for capitalism, huh?

I don’t understand why we can’t force clearly mentally ill people to take their meds. I get hit by a car, I’m unconscious. No one waits to ask me if I want to be taken to the hospital, and even if I refused, they’d say I was in shock and not thinking right. It makes little to no sense to me.

Consent is complicated, when you are taking about everyday people there are times the hospital will use legal tactics to force someone to get treatment, but that’s when it’s treatment or death and they are being stupid, I remember one article about a teenage girl being forced to do chemo and her response to it all afterwords was ‘‘well I was going to eventually get treated I just wanted time to think about it’’ which sounds like the only thing a judge would need to hear to approve the choice to force treatment, but then you have elderly folks with DNRs who are NOT FUCKING AROUND and ignoring those directives to me is pretty sickening, I’ve had grandparents who were ready to die, I’ve never been in my 70s with debilitating health problems, I don’t know what that’s like, but if an adult who’s reached a life expectancy age is ready to die, fuck you, let them die. And when someone like Steve Jobs that let’s a highly treatable cancer kill him because maybe he just needed to drink more wheat grass or some stupid shit, there’s nothing you can do but go ‘‘OK, well, we don’t have to make any follow up appointments now that you’re basically dead.’’ And move on.

Because they make the decision while on the meds and theoretically of sound mind. If you prior to that accident signed a DNR, and they knew about it, they wouldn’t perform certain measures that they otherwise would.
